Setup guide
Five minutes from download to your first recording. Permissions, shortcuts, and connecting your Mac to your account.
Requirements
"Last 15 seconds" recording requires macOS 27.
M-series Macs. Intel isn't supported.
Installation
- 1Download Glide Shot and open the DMG file.
- 2Drag Glide Shot into your Applications folder.
- 3Open it from Applications. Glide Shot doesn't open a window; its icon appears in the menu bar, next to the clock.
Permissions
On first launch, Glide Shot takes you to each setting in turn. They all live under System Settings › Privacy & Security. Permissions never leave your Mac.
Shortcuts
On first launch, Glide Shot takes over the macOS ⇧⌘3, ⇧⌘4, and ⇧⌘5 shortcuts. You can change any of them in Settings › Shortcuts.
Connect your Mac to your account
To use Pro, connect your Mac to your account. Each account can have up to 3 Macs.
- In Glide Shot, open Settings › Account and click Sign in with browser.
- Enter your email on the page that opens, then open the link we send you on the same Mac.
- When your browser asks, confirm Open Glide Shot. Your Mac then shows up on your account page.
Troubleshooting
I granted permission, but recordings come out black
Quit Glide Shot completely (menu bar › Quit) and open it again. macOS only applies the Screen Recording permission after the app restarts.
Nothing happens when I press a shortcut
Another app (CleanShot X, for example) may be using the same shortcut. Quit that app, or pick a different key in Settings › Shortcuts.
I want my old macOS shortcuts back
Turn them back on in System Settings › Keyboard › Keyboard Shortcuts › Screenshots, then change those shortcuts in Glide Shot.
I can't connect my new Mac
Each account can have up to 3 Macs. Remove one you no longer use from your account page. Macs not seen for 90 days are removed automatically.
I bought Pro, but it's not showing up
Open Settings › Account in Glide Shot and make sure you're signed in with the email you used to buy. Your license works offline for 14 days and renews once you're back online.
